Go back to Journal Main Page Status Report The feature creep never ends! As we neared completion of the Game Lib release 2 development, a couple of new features crept in. Even with the feature creep, the Game Lib release 2 is ready for the next game application! Yeah! Most of June was spent getting the last few features in and writing tests. The testing went well. The testing even exposed a few problems introduced into the Game Lib in release 1. The hard status is that the June 15 testing deadline was not met. No worries. By the end of June, all testing was complete. All of us here at GBG feel that the Game Lib release 2 is significantly better than Game Lib release 1. It should also be noted that a couple of Game Lib release 2 actions items were left OPEN. Chuck's Comments... Holy Toledo Batman! Let's get onto the games. That's why we are here, is it not? Anyway, June was a bug brain drain because testing is difficult to do properly. Linda's test write ups provided a moderate amount of help but lacked the depth we needed to hit the ground running. Chen and I spent a lot of time figuring how to test some of these new features. Chen proved that he is a superhero with his heroic programming when implementing the tests. I'm still not exactly sure when he did all of it and he won't give me a straight answer. That brings up another good point, we were all pretty busy throughout June with our outside lives that sometimes finding time for GBG became difficult. Nevertheless, we got it done pretty much on time and I have Linda and Chen to thank for that! Thanks! - Chuck Linda's Comments... All I have to say is that I am ready for Dark Hall. I was definitely not as busy as Chuck and Chen over the past month. I tried to help out where possible. I started to think about Dark Hall and just do some open idea sessions. Linda Chen' Comments... Good month. Keep on learning more about DirectX. I spent a lot time on testing glr2 but found most of it working as expected. couple of bugs needed fix that were from glr1. chen
